FIND OUT
HOW WE
PLAY RUGBY
Old Ruts Rugby develops and promotes the game in line with the England RFU’s guidance. In this section you can find out how we’ve gone about that since 1923. We received Whole Club RFU accreditation in 2012.
The Old Rutlishians’ Rugby Club was formed in 1923 as part of the Old Boys Association of Rutlish School, which was set up in 1906. Originally ex-pupils joined, but for at least 25 years now it has been open for all and has recently changed its structure to become a registered charity.
The club has played at its ground in Poplar Road, Merton Park, London for over eighty years. Old Ruts was the first club in the area to form a Minis section back in 1991 and has gone on from strength to strength since.
